Settings and permissions (iPhone)

For all of Hövding App’s functions to work, the app has to be open (or running in the background) on your phone. The app also needs permission to access your location and to share your trip data. Follow the instructions below. (Depending on model and iOS version, the phone’s settings may differ slightly from this guide.)

1. Check Hövding’s connection

Open Hövding App. Make sure that your Hövding is connected and that its status is displayed on the app’s main screen.

(2.3)
Tap Location, then tap Always – this is required for the app to register trips while running in the background. Make sure that Precise Location is ON if the option is presented.

3. Make sure that Hövding App is running

Hövding App has to be open (or running in the background) on the phone during your trips. If you force close Hövding App you must open it again, for your trips to be registered and your ICE contacts to be notified – in the case of an accident.
